About the Author
Dr. Vinay K. Ingle is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northeastern University. He received his Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1981. He has broad research experience and has taught courses on topics including signal and image processing, stochastic processes, and estimation theory. Dr. Ingle has co-authored numerous higher level books including DSP LABORATORY USING THE ADSP-2181 MICROPROCESSOR (Prentice Hall, 1991), DISCRETE SYSTEMS LABORATORY (Brooks-Cole, 2000), STATISTICAL AND ADAPTIVE SIGNAL PROCESSING (Artech House, 2005), and APPLIED DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING (Cambridge University Press, 2011).

When I think I ever saw everything about books, editors surprise me. I bought this book with exactly the same goal suggested by the authors in the introduction. A book companion with examples in Matlab with the purpose of making the activities a little more practical and vivid. When I read the table of contents I could see 15 chapters, specially the 13 th one that I was interested. So far so good. However, when I perused the book I realized that the last chapter was number 12. I thought it was some misleading or misprinting, but no. The authors began a new kind of publishing. You pay for the whole book, but you only can see parts of it. It is very nice. When I tried to access the other chapters at the site I was surprised with some authorization to complete the access and 2 days have past with no answer. If the editor(or the authors) plan to sell a book with a specific subject, please, the content must obey what the table of contents says. I suggest the amazon to take this book off its list of selling books.Eberth Correa.
Don't buy this book. There are no chapters 13-15 online at the companion website. Plus, the content of the book is essentially the same as what's in the 3rd edition.
